Introduction to Yoga

I have practiced yoga on and off for most of my life, my mom would practice in our small living room to an old yoga VHS tape and I would follow along with her, enjoying the fun names for the poses and pretending to be a Warrior or a Downward Facing Dog. It was playful and felt great. As I grew I began to study theatre arts and yoga was always used as a tool to connect with breath and body. I often took yoga for granted as something everyone knew about and practiced.

Personal Yoga Journey

I found yoga again in college, when mental and physical health challenges led me to seek out this practice again. From then on I practiced on an off, once a week or so for many years. After years of practice I was led to sign up for a teacher training program. I often shared different poses with friends and family, and encouraged others to go to yoga as I knew the benefits from personal experience. I realized that teaching others yoga was something I felt passionate about, and it only seemed natural to pursue the practice further. I completed my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training at Radiant Life Yoga in Uptown Minneapolis in April of 2018, and my Yin Yoga Certification with Jaina Portwood in September 2018. I teach Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, and Corporate style yoga, as well as mat Pilates and Barre. I look forward to meeting you and working with you, I believe yoga has the power to change lives for the better, and I cannot wait to share this practice with you!
